It was a little before Easter, okay, a lot before Easter, but we had a great time making cookies this last weekend with Fiona and her mom Susan. The girls got into both the cookie shaping and the cookie decorating. And I can honestly say that for both of them there was some strong attachments to their cookies. What could be more fun than watching these two do something that meant so much to me growing up. I love seeing them have such a good time.

After School Program Play
This is the second year that Lily was involved in a play for her after school program. It requires that we leave her there for longer hours than we would like, but she sure has a good time. This year they did a play from Disney's Descendants movie. Lily loved it and had a great time with her friends.
Macaroons anyone?
Over the months of February and March we got to spend a lot of time with one of Lily's best friend's Gianna and her sister Mary Grace. This particular day the girls got in their mind that they wanted to make macaroons. So purple macaroons we did make. And honestly they turned out pretty tasty despite my hesitation. The girls did a really great job baking them and frosting them. I think they are ready for a french patisserie now.
Lily Shower Time
Everything changed a little with Dad out of town. Usually he helps with Lily's showers. Mom does all the cold work while Dad usually dries her off. But with Dad out of town and no one to dry her off (Mom is still in the shower), Lily decided snuggling on the warm radiant heated floors was a good option. Complete with head covering.
Navy Yard Kids Celebration
The Navy Yard here in DC is an interesting place. It is home to the Washington Nationals baseball stadium and has undergone extensive renovation. It truly is a hip place to live downtown right on the river front. We were happy to join some good friends on a sunny (albeit chilly day) at Navy Yard for a big kids celebration, full of blown up and lighted bunnies just in time for Easter.
The balloon lady made the most amazing balloons ever. Lily got a panda.

Beach again
Lily and I got to enjoy a weekend at the beach all to ourselves. The weather was friendly enough for a stroll on the boardwalk. We also enjoyed some serious Mom/Lily bonding time over shopping, movies and board games.
Norma & Cliff's 60th Anniversary Party in Oregon
Lily and Mom were so fortunate to be able to join the Albee & Cremer clan for an extended weekend over Valentine's Day to celebrate Cliff & Norma's 60th wedding anniversary. It truly was a weekend filled to the brim with family and friends, some of which I personally haven't seen for 20+ years. The party was an amazing success with over 150 people. And Lily so enjoyed spending time with all her cousins.
