Weekend Updates

This weekend was a very relaxed new family weekend for the Dixon's. Friday night we made it to Lily's first trip to Costco. Found bulk size diapers, wipes and formula which we are finding we need in bulk quantities. Saturday we picked up the keys to our new apartment in Batesville then did a little shopping in Cincinnati before heading back to Indy. Then Sunday, Dad and Lily watched football while Mom ran errands and cleaned the inside of the cars.

Thought we would share a few more pictures of the family.

Good pick for a single guy!

The Weather Turns

After a couple very beautiful fall days, we are back to rain. So no more stroller rides for us for a little while. This weekend we get the keys to our apartment in Batesville. Yes, we will now have an apartment in one town for the weekdays and a large house in Indianapolis for the weekends (doesn't make the most sense... but its going to work for us). Our new apartment is actually pretty nice. Its only about 2 miles from work, a block from the supermarket, and close to everything else. Kim will be starting back to work on November 13th, Lily starts at the babysitter on November 16th. It will be a big adjustment for us, but with an apartment so close to work, my commute will be cut by about 2.5 hours each day. More time to spend with my darling daughter.

In other news... We found out recently that our home was selected to be the 2011 Indy Show House (a charity that supports the Wishard hospital system here in Indianapolis). It means that we will have to take our house off the market and not sell it until then, but... the upside is hopefully we will be able to sell the house for more once the decorators get through with all their changes. It will be very exciting for us to see our home go through a full face lift (landscaping, interior, exterior... basically everything). You can see what the Show House is about at the following link.

This weekend Lily will have a couple more first:
1. Her first trip to Costco (aka Comcast)
2. Her first trip to the Outlet Mall (so Mommy can finish her Christmas shopping hopefully)
3. Her first Halloween outfit

We'll take some pictures and post more after the weekend.

Stroller Time and updates

It was a beautiful day yesterday and we had been to the doctor to confirm Lily is now above her birth weight. She is now 8 pounds 2 ounces, she had gained 10 ounces last week. When got home we decided to take Lily for a stroller ride around the block.

Lily's First Road Trip

It was a quick over night but we had a lot of fun seeing everyone. We got to see my mom's and Ron's new house, very easy to hang out and feel comfortable in, we had the upstairs to ourselves with a bedroom and bathroom and plenty of privacy and space. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Dad, Mom & Lily

Thanks to Grandma Merry for the nice picture of our new little family. Lily was sleeping contently in her fuzzy blanket. You can see how happy Dad & Mom are.

More Pictures of Our Little Bug

Little bug, big bug after the coming growth spurt. Last night Lily ate for 4 hours straight without a break. Well, long enough for a couple dirty but thats about it. They say thats typical from day 7-10, but man, were we worried until we read that she is perfectly normal. Mom and Dad are still doing well. Getting sleep, in smaller increments, but at least we are getting rest. Having a wonderful time enjoying every day with Lily.

Lily's Excellent Weekend (Day 5 & 6)

Chris says that it looks like Lily got his blonde hair and blue eyes, but she got Mom's good looks. She is so much fun. Grandma Merry & Grandpa Ronnie came to visit on Sunday. Lily was a perfect little angel. Not a peep out of her. She slept contently on whoever would hold her. She is doing much better sleeping now. Finally getting 2-3 hours at a time. Dad is being a trooper, getting up during every nighttime change and feeding. He is definitely super dad. He did go back to work today, very reluctantly. But he checked on us a lot and had lunch with us. Very nice to have him here during the day, even if he is working. Lily has her first week check up tomorrow with her pediatrician. We are hoping her weight is up and her slight case of jaundice is nearly gone. Every day is definitely a new adventure. We can't keep our eyes off the little one. She is so stinkin' cute.

Lily's Fourth Day (10/9/09)

We are definitely enjoying the adjustment to being home. No one poking and prodding at us, and definitely a lot quieter than the hospital. The new family is all doing well. Lily has lost a little weight, but we are hoping by Monday she will be back close to her original birth weight. She continues to look cuter and cuter every day. Not sure how that is possible.

Lily's Third Day (10/8/09) - Going Home Day

Yippeee... we got to go home today. A little late in the evening, but we made it. A little disoriented. Not sure where everything is or how to use any of these fancy swings and things. But we will figure it out.

Lily is Born

Here are a few pictures of Lily Mae on her very first day. October 6th at 4:39 pm she was born. Weighing in at 7 lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long. She is the most beautiful thing we have ever laid eyes on. Yes, definitely proud parents.
