33 weeks down....how many to go???

We have had another great weekend, my sister Jodi and her daughter Karli came over for the weekend. We had fun shopping, had a great dinner at the melting pot and then showed up 20 minutes late for a movie. Yes the weekend was a reflection on the weather we have been getting, it was a balmy 68 on saturday with cloud cover and on sunday when we left the house it was 63. Not sure where summer is but it is not here.
We had another doctor appointment last week where in 5 minutes or less the doctor answer all of our questions and had us out the door. He did however teach us a new trick, we had told him about how Lily likes to kick me in the ear when I put my ear to Kim's belly and he said yeah that that is perfectly normal then he told us about what they do when the baby is not active and they need or want the baby to move around, he said they put one quarter on the belly and with another quarter tap it. I can tell you for sure it works and Kim has banned playing quarters on her belly anymore. Lily was all wound up for about an hour and a half. Our next doctors appointment is September 8th and I will have to think up some more questions to ask. Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Hiccups

The baby has discovered hiccups which is a brand new sensation for mom. A little strange feeling, and view from the stomach. Definitely comical.

All is well here. Lily is still cooking in the oven. Chris spent all last week in Seattle (took the bad weather with him) then brought it back to Indianapolis again. Talk about strange summer weather. We got some great swimming in last week in the pool. Hopefully more this weekend if the weather cooperates.

Hope the summer is treating you all well.

Finally Warm Weather

Finally we got some warm weather (maybe just normal for here). Saturday we went to the State Fair. We walked from home and it got a little warm. The fair was pretty uneventful. Definitely some interesting people watching though. Did you know that you can buy anything deep fried at the fair you can imagine: Snickers, Reese's Cup, Deep fried Pepsi dough, Deep fried Pizza, and the list goes on and on. Chris and I bucked up for an elephant ear than got out of there.

Today we are planning to sit by the pool for a while. Chris has the pool looking crystal clear and it might finally be warm enough to enjoy again. I'm looking forward to it.

Baby updates

Yes I know she still looks small but she is solid bowling ball. And yes black does having a slimming effect but be honest if you were pregnant would you want a picture that makes you look big?!?! So I do what any loving husband would do and I post a beautiful picture of my wife with Lily. Oh it has been so much fun, we laugh at Lily kicking around although I think Kim wishes she would take a break from time to time. Lily loves to kick right when my ear is on Kim's belly...I am trying to hear the heartbeat and she is saying "back off dad...a little privacy and space please" We are coming up on 31 weeks this Saturday and it is exciting to think how soon Lily will be here.

August Already?

Pick up the newspapers and you will see record hot temperatures for Seattle & Portland (105). Then flip a page and you will see record low temperatures (avg of 68 for July) for Indianapolis. Not sure, but I'm feeling lately that the colder weather is just following us around. We haven't been able to use the pool much here this summer. However, on the flip side, at least its been cool during most my pregnancy. Very little swollen feet for me so far. Looking forward to some good swimming weather though because all other forms of exercise are getting tougher and tougher each day as the little bowling ball in my stomach continues to grow.

Lily, Chris and I are all doing well. Chris had a busy week at work. Kim is just happy she can make it to work and still get workouts in most days. Lily is just content to bounce around all day long in her mothers stomach. This weekend is pretty low key. Need to get the yard work done, then tonight we are off for a steak dinner (Kim lost a bet to Chris) and then to the movies.

Hope all is well with all of you.
