Snow Weekend

On Saturday we had the second big snow of the year.  Forecasts were for 4-5 inches but at the end of the day we got about 12 inches.  We decided we would head out to run errands before the snow got bad but because of idiotic drivers it took us about 3 hours to get back 10 miles to home.  Not a stellar decision on our part, but heck... we were completely stock and ready for baking the rest of the weekend.  Homemade orange rolls, cheesecake, two different kinds of cookies, chicken pot pie, fried chicken, etc.  It was a great weekend of indoor family time.  And a little outdoor snow playing too.

President's Day and Valentine's at the Beach

It was a fabulous long weekend at the beach full of lots of fun with friends.  Saturday night we hosted yet another Valentine's party.  Not on purpose this time, but because we couldn't get reservations at the restaurant and thus needed a place for all our beach friends to gather.  But what a gathering it was.  Great drink, great friends and lots of playing for the kids.  Then Sunday there was more friends for breakfast, at the pool, at the club for lunch, for dinner and then again Monday for breakfast.  Our social calendar is crazy at the beach.  These kids just don't know how lucky they have it.  Thank goodness I was able to steel a couple hours for a little shopping.

Our one warm day in February

We had a freak warm day in February (and lucky for us it was on a Sunday)... so we headed downtown for brunch with friends and then hit the zoo on the way home.  I can not explain how lucky we are to have the zoo so close.  In addition, not having to pay makes even a short trip well worth it.

Pre Valentine's Party

On Feb. 7th we were lucky enough to have over 40 friends over for a Pre-Valentine's party in Maryland.  We weren't expecting quite so many people to show up, but have no fear... we had plenty of food and crafts for the kids to play.  Although I must admit that the kids did very little crafty and a lot of playing.  In fact there were toys everywhere upon departure.  We had a fantastic time and Lily was in holiday/party heaven.  She completely enjoys holidays and may enjoy holiday parties even more.  However, I promised myself after that there would be no more parties for a while.  You will see later that this didn't last long.

My apologies for the lack of pictures.  Chris was in charge of pictures and well...
