Fantastic Mother's Day Weekend

I do believe I had the most perfect Mother's Day weekend at the beach house.  On Saturday we did some swimming, hit Rehoboth and got to go to Funland for the first time.  Yes, Lily actually rode rides for a mere 30 cents!  Wow.  The weather was absolutely wonderful both days.  Low 80s and a nice sea breeze.  I even got to try out my new kayak on Saturday.  On Sunday it just got even better.  We headed to the beach early and saw some dolphins, then swimming, then Mother's Day Brunch at the club, followed by some lounging in the sun.  We finished the day with Lily coming kayaking with mom.  She went about 15 minutes even.  Quite a long time for her to sit still.  Seeing all the sand cranes, eagles, sand pipers, horseshoe crabs and tons and tons of turtles made the ride very exciting.  A perfect weekend!

Fun weekends in May

This month we have seen both new things (Great Falls Park) and repeat things (like the National Zoo which is always a hit with Lily.  Great Falls Park is amazing park with nice walking trails into the falls on the Potomac River.  There is a park on both the Maryland side and Virginia side which makes for lots of good viewing of the falls.  Never would I have imagined that there was something so natural and serene nearly in the middle of D.C.  We saw baby geese, lots of Herons (like 10), Eagles and lots of other cool birds.  Well worth the visit.

Meerkats are Lily's favorite animal at the zoo

These are the "Great" falls but there were lots of little falls that you could see close up as well.  Birds flying all over the place as well.  It was amazing.

Lily just continues to grow every day.  She is a goofy, crazy and sweet child.  Mind you, she is definitely manipulative just like most kids this age.  We have enjoyed a fun spring with her.
