Lily (and Donna's) Garden

Our community built a brand new raised garden area for all the gardening enthusiasts in our neighborhood.  Lily was asked to help with Ms. Donna's garden this year.  Together they planted all their items and the two of them continue to tend their garden regularly.  Lily likes to check after school a lot to make sure the garden is still doing well.

Weekend with Friends

This weekend we got to spend the weekend with Sofia and her family.  We started the weekend off with a trip to Sofia's Dad's Restaurant (The Boathouse in Bethany Beach) and then Lily and Sofia had a sleepover at our place.  Sunday, Sofia's brother and Mom joined us at the pool as well.

School Field Trip - Canoeing the Pocomoke

Lily had another wonderful field trip with her grade.  After having a field trip to learn about swimming and canoe safety, they got to try out their canoe skills on the Pocomoke River.

Six Flags Hookie Day

For the second year, my friend Elizabeth and I took our girls out of school for a day (they are both excellent students) and did a meet up at Six Flags in Maryland.  The girls had a fantastic day and ended the day by getting soak and wet on the water rides.  I'm not sure if they were more excited to be off school or to be at Six Flags.  Regardless, it was a perfect day had by all.

Road Trip Part 2 - Texas to Oregon

To round out my 10 days away, Venita and I drove Courtney's old car (to give to Christopher) back to Oregon.  The drive from TX to OR was much better than my first leg.  It took us through NM, the Four Corners, Moab and lots of other beautiful places.  I also got to see Grandma & Christopher in Oregon before flying back to Delaware to spend Mother's Day weekend with Lily and Chris.

Austin, TX is AWESOME

The weekend turned out to be a little bit of a what happens in Austin, stays in Austin.  Which ultimately equates to a perfect girls weekend.  And special thanks for the extra birthday celebration.  There was lots of great food, great drinks and great music.  Enjoying all that Austin is known for.  I can tell you that the Manmosa's and bacon steak from Bangers were a huge hit.

Magnolia Silos

Being in Austin put us in close proximity to the Magnolia Silos in Waco, TX so we made a morning out of it and had a great time.

Kim's Road Trip Part 1: Delaware to Texas

Not sure how I convinced myself that this was a good idea, but I drove from Delaware to San Antonio, TX to deliver a car to Courtney.  The first day I drove 17 hours (yikes), but it put me in a good spot to be able to pick up Ahren Carpenter the following day in San Antonio.  Thanks to Courtney having her apartment still in San Antonio (in addition to her new one in Austin), Ahren and I overnighted in San Antonio to take in the sights before we picked up Venita the following day in Austin.

San Antonio really is a fantastic city.  Dinner was amazing at Rosario's again.  Then we headed out to hear some great live music at the Rustic.  The following day we checked out the Pearl Area of San Antonio then headed downtown to the Alamo and Riverwalk.

Panama City Beach - Dancing at Shuckums

I couldn't resist posting this video of Lily & Madeline dancing at Shuckums while we were in Panama City Beach.
