Spring time = friend time

Now that the weather is finally a little nicer in DE, Lily has been able to get outside and hang out with all her buddies.  They have located a new tree that they can all climb together.  There has even been reading time in the tree recently and lots of meet ups at the "tree".  We are definitely lucky that these kids can safely hang out in our neighborhood together.  It is a rare experience in this day and age and we feel so lucky.

Spring Break - Shelling & More Beaching

No trip to Bonita is complete without lots and lots of shelling.  Unfortunately it wasn't our best shelling week ever, but it was still loads of fun and loads of great walks together.  We also got to deliver a bunch of our extra shells from prior trips to the volunteers at Barefoot Beach who planned to share them all with kids who come through.  The volunteers thought our shells were second to none and even took some home for themselves.  We definitely felt proud!

Then we headed out for more beach time.  And you might notice some march madness going on towards the end of the trip as well.  OK, seriously, this is a basketball family... there was tons of March Madness going on.  And Lily was loving ever second of it.

Spring Break - Sunsets

There are no shortages of amazing sunsets in Bonita.  This one turned out extra special pink thanks to a few clouds.  And it turned out to be a perfect night for a few drinks on the beach, beautiful sunset and some good family photos.

Spring Break - The Ford Edison Estate (finally)

We finally got a chance to visit the Ford Edison Estate in Ft. Myers.  Lily, Chris and I have been wanting to do it forever.  We keep waiting for a non-sunny day and finally got it.  Luckily the weather was still pretty decent and made for a perfect visit.  Uncle Dave loved all the gardens and plants.  I loved the going through the Ford & Edison houses and of course the laboratories were completely cool too.  Then after our touring, we stopped at Doc Fords and celebrated Courtney's new job.  A perfect place for a meal and celebratory drink.  And the Beach Bread was as perfect as always.

Spring Break 2019 - Beachin It!

Lily tells Courtney she wants to go in the water... she really does... but then again... she really doesn't.  Courtney was a great sport about it though.

We all spent many days on the beach.  Some of us more than others (Courtney & Kim).  It was nice to even get Grandma Norma to the beach.

Spring Break 2019 - First stop Orlando

On our way down to Bonita Springs for spring break, we had to make a pit stop in Orlando to pick up Grandma Norma, Aunt Venita & Uncle Dave.  And we arrived a bit earlier than expected (thanks to Mom & Dad driving all through the night).  But we made the best of it with a stopover at Disney Springs.  We had a yummy lunch at Frontera Grill and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

A few pictures from Worcester Prep

Lily continues to love her school this year.  Making it tougher to leave, but knowing that she is in such good hands has been amazing.  Her teacher, Ms. Shimko, is one of the most amazing teachers we have run across and absolutely adores Lily.  Lily has made tons of friends, has risen to the rigor of preparatory school and is getting straight (high) A's in all her subjects.  We couldn't be more proud.  Fingers crossed that her new school in Bend turns out just as good.
