Touring around D.C. with Larry

Unfortunately Courtney had to head home on Saturday but we got the chance to enjoy one more day of being tourist with our good friend Larry.  It was so great to see him and take in the sites together.  I think we completely wore out Lily, but she will recover I'm sure.

Annapolis

Every time we move to a new city we try and be tourists no matter what.  I think we are giving tourist new meaning this time with all the visitors we've had.  But I must say that we continue to enjoy every visit.  Last Saturday we spent the day with cousin Courtney from Oregon and our good friend Larry from Florida in Annapolis.  Larry and Courtney just happened to visit at the same time so it was a two for one deal.  We finally did a boat trip around Annapolis.  It was perfect weather and the views from the boat were awesome.  Did you know that Annapolis is consider the boating capital of the country.  There are definitely a lot of boats!

Old Town Annapolis Pier.  You can pull right up in your sail boat or other motor craft and grab lunch.

Below is a falcon's nest that apparently has been on this bouy in the bay for a long time.  There were actually like three other birds inside the nest.  Amazing.

Bestie Birthday

Lily got to enjoy spending the evening at her best friend Gianna's fourth birthday party this last week.  The girls had a wonderful time and so did the parents.  Lily even went shopping for Gianna's gift and really enjoyed watching her open it.  What a cute pair they are.

Cupcake loving family

Between sugar cookies and cupcakes, there is an awful lot of frosting that happens in our household.  Courtney helped Lily frost the brightest pink cupcakes ever.  We sure miss Courtney already.

Day Trip to the Beach

Unfortunate as it was to just make it to the beach for one day, it was still a wonderful day and completely worth the drive.  We started out early and got across the bridge before traffic.  We stopped at a new find we made recently:  a fruit stand with hot fresh cinnamon donuts coming right out of the fryer.  Wow, did they melt in the mouth.  We hit Bethany Beach and Rehoboth Beach.  Courtney got to sample some Thrashers french fries.  Then we headed to the outlets for a quick shopping adventure.  Next it was on to our beach house community where we spent the rest of the afternoon lounging and enjoying the wave pool.  We finished up the day by stopping at Cafe Paladar for a great cuban dinner.  Perfect day all in all.

Baltimore with Courtney

Being tourists is something we still enjoy after all our tourist trips around the area.  We still find new things all the time.  And this trip to Baltimore added some fun things to our checklist.  We toured around Fells Point for the first time.  We enjoyed a water taxi ride for free (the guy never collected our money for some reason).  And we got some interesting people watching in as they were having a Japanese comic book convention in town.  You should have seen some of these outfits.  Lily was especially amazed at how many girls had pink hair.  Very fun day.

Courtney is here... and brownies are in the oven

We are lucky enough to have Courtney staying with us for a full week (and two weekends).  We started the weekend by making some brownies.  Not sure who had more fun trying on aprons and chef's hats.

Hanging out with friends

Not last weekend but the weekend before.  Yes, I need to catch up with blogging... We had a chance to spend the day with Lily's friend Gianna and her family.  We had a great time.  The girls played so well together and had lots of fun trying on all Lily's clothes.
