Lily loves the beach!

Every weekend the first thing we hear is "beach" now. So... every weekend we go. Lily just loves it. She loves playing with her bucket and the water and getting showered by her father. Maybe the matching hat, sunglasses and swimsuit are a bit much, but they really were all on sale. And she looks so stinkin' cute. She is very laid back at the beach. Mostly just playing with water and watching everyone. This weekend we actually went down and grilled up dinner. Lily met a friend who traded her some corn on the cob for some blueberries. Plus a few paper plates that we forgot from home. Fun times! Off to Puerto Rico next weekend so it will be a while before our next posting. Hope you all have a great fourth of july!

Pig Tails

I can't believe her hair is long enough for pig tails already. This was Sunday and we were just getting her all ready to go to the beach (Sandy Point State Park actually on the Bay, not the ocean), but it is only 15 minutes away and has sand and water for good sand castle building. Lily loves taking her wagon there.

The Washington D.C. National Zoo is the BEST!

Not only is it a fantastic zoo, but it is absolutely free. We hit the zoo at 9am on Saturday and felt like we had the place to ourselves. Good parking. Front row to all the animals. Lily loved the elephants, the teddy bear (aka panda), and the lions and tigers. The cows were even a hit.

Enjoying the weekends

Last weekend we had great time. On Saturday we went downtown for the day exploring. We hit Eastern Market (a nice outdoor farmers market). We had a famous shake at Ted Bulletin. Then while Lily took a little snooze we went to Old Town Alexandria and went exploring. Since the little one wanted to be carried so much, we were worn out by the time we got home. Sunday we goofed around and made lots of good food for the week. Thus Lily in the chef's hat helping mom make homemade noodles. By the way... she did throw egg on the wall just after the picture was taken.

Perfect Mothers Day Weekend

What a wonderful Mother's Day Weekend we had. Shopping on Saturday with all kinds of good deals for mom. Then a great lunch. And Sunday the weather was so perfect that we hit the beach. Not the ocean waves, but it was fun to play in the sand at Sandy Point State Park on the Chesapeake Bay (only a mere 20 minutes from our place). Lily had fun shoveling water from her bucket onto herself, and drinking a little from time to time. Chris taught her to say "Mango Mama" in honor of mothers day. A way longer story than its worth. Lily was very gracious and even wore her hat all day. I think she especially likes her sunglasses.

Our last weekend in Indianapolis

Last weekend we got to spend a fantastic two days in Indy with family. It was probably our last weekend there for a very long time. Not only did we get to tour our Decorator Show House, which was absolutely amazing (check it out at: http://www.indystar.com/article/20110430/LIVING02/104300309), but we also got to spend some great family time with the Dixon's and Aeschelman's. To top of the entire weekend, we sold our house in Indy as well. Yippee... now we just wait for our new home to get built in Maryland. In the meantime, more sightseeing for us. Hope you all enjoy a wonderful mothers day.
