Had a great weekend taking a roadtrip to Madison, Wisconsin to see the fantastic family of Chris, Tessa, Haydon & Tristen. Had some great conversation, kids play time, and some fantastic lamp and baba ganoush for dinner. The kids are old enough not to scare us completely and actually made us pretty darned excited for our new little Lily on the way.
Sunday we headed to Chicago and did some shopping for Lily's room. Bought more little clothes than we should have, but we did find some great stuff for her room as well. New curtains, rug, crib stuff... Monday, we headed home only to find rain, rain and more rain. So much for the lawn mowing. It will likely be a forest once we get to it. But we had a good day decorating Lily's room, running erands and enjoying our road trip company.
Looking forward to a 3 day workweek before heading to Oregon for fun with friends and family. Can't wait to see everyone, seems like its been forever (too long anyway).

It's a Girl!!!!!
We are very excited with the new news, we had lots of fun see the baby move around. I had no idea they could get so many pictures and angles of the baby. We got to see her little feet and hands, button nose and everything in between. The nurse said it is a girl and we asked of course how sure are you and she said she hasn't been wrong yet in 16 years. Below are 2 of my favorite pictures, one of her profile where you can see she has a cute nose and the other of her hand. We have already decided on the name and we can't wait to show you more pictures of Lily Mae

Weekend Camping
Great weekend. Friday night we went out with our buddy Larry (his last weekend in Indianapolis before he moves to Jacksonville). We hit the Mongolian BBQ then went to the movies to see Angels & Demons.
The Crib is in!

Birthing Class
This weekend we got to attend our birthing class. A little early, but the only other option was to wait until week 34 or something like that, so we elected to take it early. We were definitely the earliest of the other six couples in class. While it was a little frightening, it was certainly a day packed with knowledge. Chris was pretty amused about how crazy I am likely to become. But I figure its only 1 day of your life and they claim I will have amnesia anyhow. (Lets hope so.)
Feeling much better now. Able to function like a normal person without all the nausea now. Yippee. This last week was brutal at work, too many late nights. I definitely appreciated the down time over the weekend. Made some great food (frog eyed salad, macaroni salad, brownies, cookies, marinated meat, etc).
The weather is still just so-so. Lots of rain here over the last 4 weeks, but I'm sure it will start to get warm in the next couple weeks. Looking forward to the month of May. On May 21st, we get to have our first ultrasound and hopefully find out whether we are having a little boy or girl (hopefully not both). Then at the end of May we get to go to Oregon to celebrate high school graduations for Roslyn & Doug. And my wonderful best friend is planning a baby shower for me during the weekend. I'm very excited!

Baby's Heartbeat
We had our first doctors appointment this week. Confirmed that we are now 14 weeks pregnant and our due date is October 18th. The most exciting part of the appointment was hearing the baby's heart beat and movements in the womb. He or she is definitely an active little bugger. The heart beat was a fast 160+ beats per minute. We also scheduled our first ultra sound for May 21st at which time we should get to find out the sex of the baby. Can't come soon enough for Chris. The baby crib was shipped from Canada this week so we should get to pick it up this next week. So we are going to clean all the guest room bedding out of the babys room and start getting it ready for the crib. It will be void of decoration until we found out if its a boy or girl, but its certainly fun to get started.
Kim is starting to get a little bit of a bulge in the belly. You can definitely tell there is something in there. Chris has been very supportive, helping with workouts, finding clothes that fit, etc.
Work is going well. We are excited for a trip to Boise next weekend for Kristy's wedding.

BABY ON THE WAY!
For some of you this is old news, for others... please don't fall off your chairs. Chris and I are expecting a baby in October. We are about 13 weeks along (starting our second trimester already). So from now on you'll see lots of blogging about the trials and tribulations of pregnancy and preparing for our little one. We are excited as can be. Took us several months of trying so it was well planned, but not sure you can really plan for this sort of thing.
Haven't gone to the doctor yet. Had some scheduling conflicts, so we are anxiously awaiting our first visit to hear the heart beat on April 16th. I'm starting to show just a little bit. Still able to wear my normal clothes for now, but don't anticipate thats going to last too long.
More to come...
