Fun times in February

We've finally been home long enough to enjoy some downtime.  Chris was travelling for a week so Lily and I got to enjoy time with Lily's fill in grandparents (Donna & Jerry).  They took us to Valentines Dinner and had us over for dinner too.  Donna and Jerry are moving to Bonita Springs this next year and we couldn't be more happy that we will get to see them on all our Bonita visits.  They will be just five miles down the road.

School Visits

Our timing on our trip to Oregon was nearly perfect to allow Lily time to visit a couple private schools and to get her interviews in.  She found a great school that she loves and we are all excited about and as of writing this she got accepted to the school so we are all over the moon about our upcoming move to Bend.  Probably helps that the school has extra curricular activities every Friday, plus early dismissal every Friday too.  Here's to extended weekends.

Making us even more excited was all the cool places we visited in Bend this trip. Grandma Norma and Aunt Venita came along with us on the trip.  So we checked out a bunch of cool breweries, restaurants and places to shop.  I think we are all going to love our new home.

From Utah to Oregon

On Friday we headed from Utah to Oregon to attend Grandpa Cliff's celebration of life.  The event was attended by over 200 people and it really was a success.  Lily got to play with her cousins and enjoy some family time and even meet some friends and family that we don't see as much.

Sledding & Ice Skating

A few other Park City pictures of our last few days sledding behind our condo and Lily's second trip to the ice skating rink.  Of course, there was a little work involved during the visit for the parents.  No trip to one of our houses is without a little (or a lot) of maintenance.  We did a lot of moving furniture around and even bought a new sectional because Lily and Chris had to have it.  Luckily, I've been wanting a sectional in the living area since we bought the place and loved it myself.  It couldn't have turned out better!

Ice Castles in Midway

Before the Carpenters left us we spent our last night having Raclette together for dinner then headed to Midway to enjoy the Ice Castles.  It really was as cool as everyone said it was and they even had some slides carved into the castles for the kids to enjoy.

Ice Skating

No trip to Park City is complete without a little ice skating.  And Lily got to enjoy it two different times.  The first time all the ladies went out.  Lily is getting daring enough not to use the sides a little bit which is fun.  While we were skating, Lily saw one of her friends from school from Delaware.  Yes, she spotted a school friend 2000 miles away from home.  And it wasn't busy at all.  So her and her friend Sophia (and family) planned another meet up at the ice skating rink for a couple days later.  The girls had a great time.

Park City - Sundance

Over Lily's winter break we were able to hang out at our place in Park City and enjoy the Sundance Film Festival with our good friend the Carpenters.  Sundance was definitely an experience.  Lots of celebrity spotting, film watching, free give aways and just generally a fun place to hang out for a couple days.

Making a buck

Lily and her friend Mary are always looking for ways to make a dollar.  They've sold slime at school and next up was drive way shovelling during a snow storm.  They took orders the night before and got after it the next day.  She made about $45 and worked her little tail off the majority of the day.  Then the next day they made cupcakes and went door to door selling them.  Thank goodness for nice neighbors.

Foodie in the house!

Lily has become an absolute foodie.  Not only does she love going out and critiquing food, but she also loves to cook her own food and critique it.  I couldn't be more proud of her.  And having her fix a few meals here and there is a huge help too.

Below are some heart shaped French Macarons for Valentines Day (plus we made a million sugar cookies that looked very professionally decorated)
