Oh, what an experience. Lily and I left Theresa, Madeline & Debbie in London for an extra day while we came to Marseille, France to get settled into a house exchange for the next two weeks. It was definitely not what we expected. No AC, hot, muggy, smallest garage ever, three sets of keys to get into the house, and well just a generally transitional neighborhood. A real change from the Marriott Park Lane in London, but heck... we got on a mission to make it the best we could. Including finding the only electronics store open on a Sunday with the only 1 air conditioner left. Let's be clear... there was 1 unit left. No fans, no nothing. Just 1 portable a/c that cost me $999 stinking Euros. But it turned out to be worth it. We somehow got it home, got it up to our flat, got it installed and made the darned thing work as best we could. Mind you... we all ended up sleeping in the living room together, but what the heck. Memories!
We did have an amazing time sightseeing with the crew for a week. Our first stop was just 30 minutes away to Aix en Provence. What a town.
There is an explanation behind this photo: Lily was not upset, just shocked that the dog jumped in the water behind her and surprised her (I caught her at just the right moment I suppose)
Enjoying some great French food (mostly french fries for the girls)
