Back to our day trips. This time just 1 hour away to Avignon to visit the Palace des Popes (Popes palace) where the Popes actually resided for several popes while there was some drama going on in Rome. The palace was amazing and they provided the girls (and all of us) which ipads for an amazing historical interactive tour. What an experience.
Then of course there were a few winery tours on the way home since we were knee deep in the middle of the Rhone Valley wine region. And to finish the day off we had dinner at Mama Shelter, an amazing restaurant with a full retractable roof right next to our flat. The food was awesome and the company pretty good as well.
