The weekend before last we were fortunate enough to have cousin Roslyn visit from Oregon. She was just passing through for 1 night, but did we ever make full use of her time. Kim took the day off and took her all over DC. We saw the Capitol, the Smithsonians, the majority of the monuments and got to take in the 100th anniversary of the Cherry Blossom festival which had cherry blossoms in full bloom the exact date she was here. Not to mention the fact the weather was so nice we even got a little sun burned. After all that, we met Lily and Chris for dinner in Bethesda. What a fun way to spend a day off.
The newest monument in D.C.: Martin Luther King
Cherry blossoms overlooking the Tidal Basin and Jefferson memorial
Rosyln in front of the Native American museum
We even hit the National Arboreteum
And the Old Post Office which was recently purchased by Donald Trump and will soon be developed into a Trump Hotel (God save us!)
