30 degrees?

A little rough coming home from 80 degree weather in Florida this last week to 30 degree weather in Indianapolis.  Good reason to sit inside and relax I suppose.  Had a great week long vacation in Florida last week, but back to some serious catch up at work next week.  

Florida Day 4 and 5

Tuesday: got the chance to stay at an awesome time share resort in Orlando for two nights. It was definitely first class. Went to Universal City Walk on Tuesday night and had dinner at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Company.

Wednesday: hung around Ron & Merry's place, had some excellent BBQ at Hungry Harry's, then hung around the lanai watching all the wildlife from the back porch.

Florida, Day 3 (3/23/09)

Sunday: day at St. Pete beach. Weather was perfect! Company was most excellent. Too busy for pictures.
Monday: headed to Orlando for a day at Disney. Watched Danielle & Lauren perform in their band at Disney.

Florida, Day 1 (3/21/09)

Saturday: part of the group went to the flea market and secured some fantastic sunglasses and purses. Other part of the group hit a state park to check out the manatees and other creatures. Here are some pics from the state park.

Not the typical view from your Lanai

Look hard at the picture below and you will actually see an otter taking on an alligator. This is the view from Ron & Merry's back porch in Florida. There were three otters taking on one alligator. Not exactly what you expect from mother nature. Having a great time sitting on the porch in the beautiful 80 degree weather.

Chris Passes Test!

So for the last 6 months Chris has been study for his CISSP (some super duper IT security test). He took the test a couple weeks ago in Chicago and found out yesterday that he passed. Major accomplishment for him, and just proves he is super duper smart, which we all knew anyhow. I am really proud of him though.

So to celebrate I'm taking him out to eat anywhere he chooses this weekend. I hope he chooses someplace good.

We are thawing out here in Indiana. Weather is a balming 65 degrees (keep in mind it was a mere 20 degrees last Saturday). So maybe our flowers will start popping out. So glad the frigid cold is gone. Looking forward to a trip to Florida soon.

Cold Cold Go Away

Another cold Indiana weekend. Headed to the Pottery Barn outlet yesterday and actually came home empty handed. A little disappointing, but still a fun road trip for Chris and I. Today we are just running errands, working out, and having a relaxing Sunday watching movies. Gearing up for another busy week at work. We are closing our Charleston, SC plant and moving everything to Batesville, IN so thats keeping us all busy. A little disappointing as I was hoping to get Chris to see Charleston, but will have to make the trip for pleasure instead of business now.

Having some tasty steel cut oatmeal for breakfast. Complete with fresh sliced strawberries. A perfect breakfast for me. Chris however is looking at the stuff with a "this is way to healthy" look on his face.

Looking forward to our upcoming trip to Florida (less than 3 weeks). Can't wait to feel the warm sun, kick back with the family, go to the beach and have some fun at Disney.
